OUR STORY

"Pikin-To-Pikin" means "Child to Child" in Krio. We are a child-centred, community development organisation based in Sierra Leone.

1.png

So that staff and volunteers act with integrity and are accountable for everything they do.

2.png

So that all those we help are actively involved in their own change.

3.png

So that, through collaboration, we help communities create their own transformation.

4.png

So that all with whom we collaborate feel equally respected and heard, regardless of gender.

5.png

So that there is inclusivity and equal rights for all.

OUR VALUES

OUR WORK

Founded in 1994 and legally established as an NGO in 1998, we serve communities across all 16 districts in Sierra Leone, especially children in vulnerable areas, supporting them to build better futures for themselves.

Girls Circle Collective (GCC) Project

“The micro grant has changed my financial status. Before receiving this grant, I used to struggle with daily expenses. But now, with the money we received, I am now engaging in petty trading, selling pepper cake. This has helped me to contribute to my family’s needs and save for my school fees.”

Fatmata, a 16-year-old girl from Mosongila collectives.

“I thanked Purposeful and P2P for the intervention of the GCC project in Moyamba district, which has impacted the lives of girls in marginalised communities. We are also grateful for the refreshment funds provided to us as ministry for the monthly coordination partners meeting”

Ronald B. Martin (SSO, Ministry of social Welfare)

“Before the Girls Circle program, parents were sending their young girls to early marriage. They would do this because of hardship and poverty. But because many people are now aware, and moreover, the Chief in my community had passed byelaws that no one should force a child to get married without her consent.”
